| Whenever an object comes into our workshop, great care is taken to retain the originality to structure, texture and colour of the gilding. All ormolu items are completely dismantled prior to cleaning, and each job is treated as a unique opportunity to restore something of value and beauty to its original state. |
| Missing parts can be made using the metals which exactly match the original. They can then be carved, chased and burnished prior to gilding. Different colours of gilding can be achieved, so that the new elements exactly match the original pieces. |
| When we clean bronzes, great care is taken to remove only dirt and grime and not years of patina. New parts can be patinated and polished with wax to blend with original parts. |
